The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) and the Board of Directors of the Authority of People with Disability (APD), Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi witnessed today the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the IPA and the APD, aimed at building an effective partnership between the two parties. This partnership is intended to contribute to providing training programs that develop the capabilities and skills of persons with disabilities and enable them to perform their developmental roles efficiently and effectively. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the IPA, Dr. Bandar bin Asaad Al-Sajjan, and the CEO of the APD, Dr. Hisham Al-Haidari. The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IPA, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, explained that the agreement concluded between the Institute of Public Administration and the Authority of People with Disability contributes to developing the capabilities and skills of people with disabilities in order to enable them to perform their developmental roles in various sectors. Eng. Al-Rajhi added that the IPA plays an active role in developing the skills and capabilities of human resources in non- profit sector organizations to support their employees and enable them to perform their roles efficiently and effectively in a manner that ensures the advancement of administrative development, given that the non-profit sector is an important partner for the public and private sectors in the comprehensive development process in Saudi Arabia. Eng. Al-Rajhi thanked the Director General of the IPA, Dr. Bandar Al-Sajjan, and all the IPA’s employees for their efforts to train employees of the non-profit sector and persons with disabilities. The agreement contributes to providing training programs that develop the capabilities and skills of persons with disabilities For his part, Dr. Al-Sajan stated: “The Institute of Public Administration has given special attention to training and qualifying human resources of the non-profit sector employees in general and people with disabilities in particular, based on the importance of the third sector institutions’ role in serving the comprehensive development in Saudi Arabia. For that, the IPA is prompted to provide high quality training programs for persons with disabilities in order to enable them professionally to perform their job roles with quality and efficiency, which ultimately contributes to advancing the administrative development in Saudi Arabia”. Dr. Al-Sajan pointed out that the Institute of Public Administration places social responsibility at the top of its strategic priorities, as the IPA provided, throughout this year, many training and development programs to persons with disabilities which effectively contributed to building qualified national human capacities with disabilities in a way that achieves the qualitative transformation in the national human resources as one of the 2030 Vision goals. He also explained that the IPA implemented, through the "Providing Training Services for the Non-Profit Sector" initiative, 3 projects, during which it provided 1,867 training programs, benefiting 22,793 trainees, as well as holding memoranda of cooperation with several non-profit sector institutions. Moreover, he stated that 34 trainers (male and female) from the IPA’s training staff participated in the implementation of training programs provided to persons with disabilities and employees of the non-profit sector, which lasted nearly 1,000 training hours. On his part, the CEO of the Authority of People with Disability, Dr. Hisham Al-Haidari, indicated that this cooperation is in the interest of persons with disabilities and their appropriate rehabilitation to perform their societal and developmental roles. He added that the IPA has contributed, and still is, to developing the capabilities of people with disabilities and providing them with the personal and professional skills they need to perform their societal and practical roles as well as contribute to the comprehensive development.
